After Adwave generates the initial version of your ad creative, you'll land on the Ad Preview page. This is where you can review the video and customize it to better suit your needs. Adwave provides a powerful AI-assisted chat tool for editing, as well as options to regenerate or tweak content. This step is all about ensuring you're happy with the creative before moving on.

Previewing the Ad

On the preview page, you will see a video player that allows you to play back the generated ad. Take a moment to watch the entire ad. This is exactly how it would appear to viewers. Check the visuals, text, and audio (if narration or music is included). Beneath or alongside the video, you might see key frames or scene indicators that outline the structure of the ad.

AI Assistant for Edits (Chat Panel)

On the preview screen, there is a "Customize" chat panel (often on the right side) where an AI assistant is ready to help refine your ad. The assistant greets you with a message explaining it can change images, music, colors, fonts, narration, or text – even scene-specific adjustments. You can type in requests in natural language, just like chatting with a colleague. For example:

  • "Make the headline text in the first scene shorter."
  • "Use a different background image for the final scene – maybe something showing our product."
  • "Change the music to something more upbeat."
  • "Add a voiceover that says our slogan at the end."
  • "The font is hard to read; use a bold sans-serif font throughout."

When you submit your request, the assistant will acknowledge and begin applying the changes. Under the hood, Adwave creates a new Chat Edit message and starts a job to regenerate the video with your requested modifications. The video player area may indicate it's processing (e.g., a "Editing…" message or spinner appears).

Waiting for Edits to Apply

Editing the video via the AI assistant may take a minute, similar to the original generation. The chat panel will show your request and possibly a status message. During this time, the Continue button may be disabled and the form may be temporarily locked to prevent multiple overlapping edits. Once the edit is done, the video preview will update with the new changes, and you'll likely see a new message from the assistant confirming completion or showing what was changed. You can then play the video again to review the updated version.

Multiple Rounds of Edits

You can make multiple edit requests one after another until the ad looks perfect. Each time, the AI will update the creative and regenerate the preview. All your previous chat instructions are retained in the chat history, so the assistant remembers context. If at any point an edit doesn't turn out as expected, you can refine your instruction or ask the assistant to revert a particular change.

Using Suggestions

If you're not sure what to improve, the chat assistant might have a lightbulb (πŸ’‘) icon or suggestions feature. Clicking this might present common enhancements or tips (e.g., "Highlight a special discount in the ad" or "Emphasize your brand colors"). These are optional, but can inspire you to polish the ad.

Cancelling an Edit

If an edit request is taking too long or you change your mind while it's processing, you might have an option to Cancel the edit. Clicking it will stop the processing job if possible. The interface will then re-enable the chat and controls, allowing you to submit a different request.

"Generate New" Option

Adwave also provides a Generate New Ad button on the preview screen. This is different from editing specific elements – instead, it tells Adwave to create a brand new version of the ad from scratch. It's useful if you want to see a completely different take or style. You can compare and choose the version you prefer. Generating a new ad will also take some time similar to the first generation. You can use the AI assistant on the new version as well.

Manual Edits

In addition to the AI chat, the preview stage might allow a few direct manual tweaks. For example, you might be able to click on the ad's title/text to edit wording directly, or select a different music track from a dropdown, etc. Adwave's interface is primarily centered on the AI for convenience, but if manual controls are present (like a text field for the ad title), feel free to use them. Changes made manually will reflect in the preview immediately or upon regeneration.

When you are satisfied with how your ad looks and reads in the preview, you're ready to move on to the next step: setting up the campaign details (targeting, budget, and schedule).
